VGT 100

I saw this over at Mary's the other day, and she saw it at Stephanie's, who found it over at Very Good Taste - the 100 things that Very Good Taste thinks everyone should eat at least once in their life. Here's what you do:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Optional extra: Post a comment here at www.verygoodtaste.co.uk linking to your results.

Well guess I'll have to shove a Hostess Fruit Pie in your next care package so you can knock it off your list ;-)

I'm surprised at all the sea food being knocked off that hadn't eaten.

OH and if you mom ever gave you kaopetate (sp) for an upset tummy then you have had Kaolin. It was used as a binding in it until 1988.

I feel very "food ignorant" right now. Wow, there are a lot of foods listed that I've never even heard of. And some that I wish I didn't know about! ;)

mary - i am not a huge fan of seafood. and if kaolin is clay, what an odd thing to put on a food list.

annie - i agree!

I cannot believe that you haven't had a S'more! You so need to make this when it gets cool and try it. Mmm! As to the clay...believe it or not, there are a LOT of people (especially down south) who eat it. It's one of those things that people "crave" when they are severely anemic. Also, here, a lot of grandmothers have told their children it's good for them; pregnant women often "crave" it b/c of anemia, too.

Believe it or not, I've eaten horse. We lived in Kyrgyzstan for a year and when we ate (for like 4 hours...8 courses...ugh!) at a national's house, they served horse as part of the appetizers. I wouldn't eat it again but it wasn't gross...very fatty.

Claire, I know, I am probably one of the few who have never had a smore. When I was younger I probably would have killed for one, but now they don't really appeal to me. But if I was offered one I wouldn't turn it down. As for the clay, I have heard that some pregnant women eat it. How strange. Do they buy it in the store? Seriously, I am wondering. You ate horse! Everyone is free to do what they like, but there is no way I could eat horse.
Thanks for the comment!

I don't really like marshmallows, Sara, and never have. But I LOVE s'mores. You really should try one. They're delicious. (and oh so good for you because of the Graham crackers)

Kaolin is clay! They sell it in the gas stations in rural parts of Georgia. I couldn't quite believe it the first time I saw it. Want me to send you some?
