tuilips and art

I was happy when I realized that the tulips I bought matched the tulips in the painting The Mister's Grandmother painted many years ago.

cheesy baked crumpets

I found this video on the tickey toks and am I being dramatic when I call it life changing?  No.

I LOVE crumpets and using them as a base for cheesy garlic bread is genius.

This is from boredoflunch at Tick Tok - make a garlic butter and spread over your crumpets.  Cut in half and layer in your dish.  Top with cheese and bake in the air fryer (or oven).

So damn good!

greek potatos and candied carrots

Greek potatos are some of my very favorite kind of potato; all that lemony garlicky goodness.  Here's a super recipe we made recently.  The kids hated it, of course, but The Mister and I liked it thank god because it made a lot.

Another good recent veggie recipe was this recipe for candied carrots - I wanted to do a roasted carrot dish  but ran out of steam and this seemed easy enough.  It isn't healthy, but it sure tastes good.

my new favorite granola recipe

The Boy has begun to like fruit and yogurt parfaits, with a bit of granola sprinkled on top - preferably bought from the store, of course, so I quickly showed him how easy it was to make at home.  He rapidly went through the small but expensive bag of granola we had, and after seeing the prices of granola at the grocery store, I suggested to him how fun it would be to make our own.

Now I KNOW that at one point I had a great granola recipe that I would make whenever the mood struck, but for the life of me I can't find it.  I looked everywhere I could think of and came up empty, and mad, but luckily for me, I soon found a super super good recipe that was easy to make and absolutely delicious.

grocery shop May 31

I forget every time to take a photo of my shopping cart when I go out, so here instead is my receipt from my Costco trip on May 31

Honey Nut Cheerios on sale, because my kids eat cereal like it's the only thing that matters, water balloons for summer, organic coffee pods because apparently The Mister is fancy.  Got a 2 pack of tumblers because I'm always convinced that a new cup is just what I need to start drinking more water.  Some yogurt, some butter, some polysporin because we be injuring ourselves quite a bit lately over here.  Mozzarella corn dogs that I was sure the kids would be interested in but so far I can't convince them to try them, tomatos, apples, babybel cheese, a very good walnut coffee cake, blueberries, some prepared beef burnt ends that were good but small for the price, milk, an excellent greens, cranberry and goat cheese salad that I would eat every day, watermelon, undies, and a stuffed pork.

a painful $280
