The end of December and Christmas time

We dried slices of oranges and grapefruit and hung them on string with cinnamon sticks

Made a new batch of granola

 It snowed

We went to the KSO's Kids Christmas Concert,  The real Christmas miracle was taking 2 10 year olds and 2 15 year olds and they all behaved.

There was bowling

And ginger bread house making

And a game of Clue where somehow we all checked off one of the suspects by accident - the person who actually did it - so no one won and we were all very confused.

Salted chocolate chip shortbread cookies on Christmas Eve

We went to the pantomime

Chicken leg socks for Christmas

Tater tot breakfast casserole for Christmas morning breakfast

Beef brisket for dinner

An excellent bumper sticker

Stuff in December

We gathered leaves in the park and made stickers

We made roast squash with feta and honey

 And little focaccias

I was pretty proud of my December cover page in my junk journal

I rediscovered this box of curry in my cupboard

And made curry dumpling soup

I received the Coven newsletter by Anna Marie Tendler and am still sitting with this part -

Patriarchy hates women. It paints us as unstable. It preys on our insecurity. It protects the deplorable, if not illegal, actions of men in positions of power. It turns women against each other with its façade of scarcity by relying on us to tear each other down, to participate in judgment of one another, to be envious and jealous. Patriarchy holds women to a standard that makes no room for messiness or imperfection.

dinner - crunch wraps

get some big flour tortillas and some little flour tortillas.  cook up some ground beef or chicken and season with taco seasoning.  in the center of your big tortilla add your toppings in an area about the same size as your small tortilla - meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream, lettuce, onions, tomatos etc.  cover with the small tortilla and fold the rest of the big tortilla up to secure the package.  fry until crisp on both sides.

i finally used my latest 2 unnecessary (?) kitchen gadgets

last year i convinced myself that i absolutely must have a mini muffin maker.  i bought it and promptly pushed it to the back of the cupboard, embarrassed that i spent money on it when i have perfectly good muffin tins and an oven.

THIS year i decided that i could not live without a mini waffle maker, mostly because of those aesthetic videos online of people packing their food for the day.  i want to be cute and aesthetic too!

last month i finally used both of them for the first time.
